Right Where You Want Them To Be USCG Tallship Eagle ...When You Want Them:  Like any independent-minded, Organization -- or People -- we can be pretty irreverent.  But, one place, you won't experience that reaction -- from us -- is; as applied to The United States Coast Guard...and its other 'arm', The Coast Guard Auxiliary.  To a person, our experience, with BOTH of these Organizations, has been: nothing short-of great. From the Coast Guard Academy...to the -- beautiful -- Eagle, tallship...to the smallest inflatable, in its stable, the Coast Guard maintains a position of intelligence and professionalism, even in the face of fiscal, and supply, shortages.  We don't feel, the USCG has gotten -- until very recently -- the recognition it deserves. A "Member" of the Transportation Department, for years, dollars found it hard to get to the Coast Guard's coffers.  Now...with the happenings of 9/11...the unit has been shifted, to the Office of Homeland Security, under past Governor (PA) Tom Ridge and things are "looking, up." Our question: 'Is anyone afraid of the Coast Guard?'  Our answer: 'Only wrong-doers...some, aiming at our Country, with malice in their hearts'. Standing, Out...In Front In a truly "Free" country, there are no huge fences, with searchlights, waving to-and-fro'.  What we do have "Waving," is our Flag.  It is being carried -- on the boats, ships, and aircraft -- of one of the most underrated groups.  You-KNOW-Who!
